What is CAD?

Introduction of CAD

CAD is abbreviate for Computer-Aided Design. As the name suggests, it means using computer and softwares in the realm of design.

CAD software increase the productivity, the quality of design, improve communications through documentation, and helps create a database for manufacturing. The use of CAD is often in the form of electronic files.

In general, Unison Tek has embraced and integrated CAD with our CNC production machines. Our most commonly used files are DWG, DXF in two dimension (2D). For three-dimensional designs, we accept STEP (STP) and IGS filetypes.
