Reducing Scrap and Waste

Reducing Scrap and Waste

Scrap is an inevitable part for manufacturing. When cutting into material, in order to shape it into the part we want, scrap is created.

There are also situations where completed products do not meet quality standard and could not be repaired. In business for almost 3 decades, the Unison Tek team have extensive experience in reducing the scrap and waste from this process.

Use the Right Tools for the Job

Applying the correct cutting tool or drill can mean an ocean of difference between wasted materials, and smooth operation. This knowledge comes from years of experience and training from our machinists.

Although Unison Tek primarily focus on Turning and Milling CNC, there are special shaped parts that would be very costly to build purely from CNC. We have a wide range of fabricating methods to choose from, that can drastically reduce the cost and scrap.

For example, an custom extruded material can significantly save time and cutting vs a regular off-shelf material.
